Drupal XML Taxonomy Files

tags: xml   taxonomy   Drupal

In Drupal is possible to import and export full sets of vocabularies and taxonomy terms via XML. This can save you the time you would need to insert every single term manually.

You will need the Taxonomy XML module and the XML file containing the terms and vocabularies to import.

Install the module, import your file and that's it: your terms are bulk uploaded into the Drupal taxonomy system.

Here's a list of taxonomy XML files ready to be imported into Drupal:

  • World Countries (alphabetical): taxonomy_countries.xml
  • World Countries by continent: countries_by_continent.xml (source: Webmaster Tips)
  • Regions of Italy:taxonomy_italian_regions.xml
  • Provinces of Italy:taxonomy_italian_provinces.xml
  • New: Nested Regions, Provinces and Municipalities of Italy:taxonomy_regioni_province_comuni.xml (thanks to Michele from Miblogo.com)

To download them, right-click on the file you need below (Attachments) and save it to your desktop. More files will be added with the time as they are created or found.

If you find any error or if you know other XML files please let me know and i'll add it to the list.
